Wish You Have Surpluses Every Year

Happy New Year! I wish you all have a great 2013!

This is my new artwork showing a child with a big fish. This is a typical image for the good luck of the Chinese New Year. When Chinese get together for the Chinese New Year’s Eve dinner, we like to have dishes symbolize good luck and good fortune. “Fish” pronounces the same as “surplus” in Chinese. That’s why we will have fish at the dinner and will intensionally save some for the next day, which obviously also means we are having surplus for the new year.

And now, I wish you all have surpluses every year.

Chinese Lion Dancing

新春行大運,身體健康,萬事勝意,有如雄獅勇猛。

Today is already the third week of 2012. It’s not late to have New Year resolutions. In fact, Chinese New Year is coming next week. I think it’s a good time to express my New Year resolution. With the Chinese Lion Dancing drawing I have, I am wishing good health in the year of 2012, which is the Year of Dragon. Isn’t the Year of Dragon expected to be a strong one?

Happy New Year!
